in standard 5, 10, 20 Ltr. packing as a single or two coat product
application:
RG 010 (First Application)
- Remove all flaky, scaly, loose rust and old paint using a wire

for the chemical reaction to take place.
- Remove all grease, oil, salt or chemicals with high strength
cleaner, Rinse.
- Shake the container of
Rustgard RG 010 vigorously to ensure proper
mixing of sedimentation if any. Pour the desired quantity of
Rustgard into a plastic container. Do not use
a rusted metal container. Always keep the cap of RG 010 container
tightly closed.
- Apply first coat of RG 010 on the surface using a simple paint
brush, roller or spray gun ensuring that the product is evenly
spread on the surface. According to customers requirements, the
viscosity of Rustgard can be adjusted to suit rollers or spray
guns.
- The colour of RG 010 will gradually turn from off white to
brown / black within 20 minutes of application. It will be touch
dry in one hour and will fully cure in 24 hours.
- RG 010 will change colour from off white to black only when
there is incidence of Rust. Where the surface is clean (No Rust)
RG 010 will take on a transparency.
N.B : Most top-coats have been
found to be compatible with RG-010, with the exception of Aluminum
paint which needs a Red Oxide or similar primer in between. We advocate
the use of primers and other top coats over RG as it should be part
of the paint system, which in turn appreciably prolongs the life
span of the paint system.
